Choose your collaboration model

One manufacturing partner.
Three ways to build.

Start with the model that matches how much design responsibility you want to keep. The production scope, tooling, intellectual property, and commercial terms are then defined in writing before work begins.

01Customer design

OEM

Built to your drawings, specifications, and operating requirements. We review manufacturability, then convert the approved design into a controlled production process.

  • Customer retains design rights and intellectual property
  • DFM and technical review before production
  • Manufacturing documents controlled by written approval
02Diefei platform

ODM

Use a proven Diefei valve platform as the starting point. We adapt the design and production scope to your application, market, and customization brief.

  • Diefei base design and manufacturing
  • Customized results defined in the project agreement
  • Shorter path from requirement to sample
03Joint engineering

JDM

Develop a new valve platform together. Joint engineering is suited to complex equipment programs where the final product must align with a broader system design.

  • Joint design and development reviews
  • Ownership based on contribution and agreement
  • Designed for long-term OEM programs
Full-chain manufacturing

Built around the valve.
Controlled end to end.

Engineering, casting, machining, finishing, assembly, and dispatch sit inside one coordinated production system. That gives your project one accountable partner from first review to final packing.

01 / ENGINEERING

Design & DFM

Application review, drawing interpretation, material selection, and production feasibility.

02 / FOUNDRY

Precision casting

Pattern and process selection matched to geometry, volume, and service conditions.

03 / MACHINING

CNC machining

Controlled dimensions, sealing surfaces, and repeatable production fixtures.

04 / FINISHING

Coating & finishing

Surface preparation and coating systems selected for the working environment.

05 / ASSEMBLY

Assembly & testing

Component verification, torque control, shell testing, and seat sealing checks.

06 / DELIVERY

Packing & logistics

Protected packing, documentation coordination, and export delivery support.

One production chain. One quality record. One delivery commitment.
From drawing to production

A clear path through every gate.

Each stage closes with a defined review or approval. This keeps the approved design, tooling, process, and quality plan aligned before production volume is committed.

01

Technical review

Confirm application data, standards, drawing status, material requirements, and feasibility in a DFM review.

02

Prototype

Iterate T1, T2, and T3 samples as required until the customer approves the reference sample.

03

Tooling

Complete mold and fixture design, fabrication, and first-article verification against approved drawings.

04

Pilot run

Validate the production process, inspection method, and quality plan in a controlled small batch.

05

Mass production

Manufacture, test, inspect, pack, and deliver under the approved production and quality controls.

12daysButterfly valve reference cycle
15daysCheck valve reference cycle

Reference timelines, not a delivery promise. Actual timing depends on valve complexity, tooling, order volume, testing, material availability, and the approved project schedule.

Design control and ownership

Clear ownership.
Documented from day one.

Custom valve work depends on trust in the details. Drawings, BOMs, tooling, background IP, and change rights should be assigned before the first production release, not after a dispute.

01Intellectual property

Customer drawings and specifications remain customer property. Each party keeps its background IP. Joint or derivative IP, including process improvements and product modifications, must be allocated in writing.

02Molds and fixtures

Customer-funded molds and fixtures can be owned by the customer. Storage, maintenance, permitted use, insurance, and transfer rights should be defined in the tooling agreement.

03BOM and drawings

Approved drawings govern manufacturing. BOM records identify critical materials and suppliers, with audit rights and document-control obligations agreed by both parties.

04Change approval

Any change to technical parameters, drawings, BOM, lead time, or price requires written confirmation. The cost and schedule impact is reviewed before a revised release is issued.

Quality and responsibility

Traceable quality.
Defined responsibility.

The quality plan is matched to the product, application, destination market, and contract requirements. Where a standard or certification scope is critical, Diefei provides the current supporting documents for review.

ISO 9001Quality management system
ISO 14001Environmental management system
ISO 45001Occupational health & safety
CE / PEDEuropean market conformity
NSF/ANSI 61 & 372Drinking water system components
China TSSpecial equipment manufacturing license
01

Release testing

Valves receive shell-strength and seat-sealing tests before shipment, supported by the agreed inspection record.

02

Agreed AQL plan

Sampling levels can be specified in the contract. A reference plan is AQL 2.5 for major defects and AQL 4.0 for minor defects.

03

Responsibility boundary

Manufacturing defects are Diefei's responsibility. Defects caused by customer design, specifications, or nominated materials are defined separately in the contract.

04

Warranty proposal

The proposed warranty period is 12 months after delivery for material and workmanship defects, subject to the final signed agreement.

Certification scope, certificate validity, and testing requirements vary by product and market. Current documents should be requested and verified for each project.

Start with the application

Bring us the spec.
We will bring the manufacturing.

Share the working conditions and target outcome first. Our team will review the requirement, identify missing technical data, and recommend an OEM, ODM, or JDM route.

A useful first brief includes

  • Application, working medium, temperature, and pressure
  • Valve type, size, pressure class, material, and connection
  • Reference standard, drawing, sample, or target specification
  • Estimated annual volume and first-order quantity
  • Testing, marking, packaging, and delivery requirements
  • Market, certification, and documentation needs
Project FAQ

Questions before you send the drawing?

These are the first questions our engineering and sales teams usually discuss with a new OEM or ODM partner.

What is the difference between OEM, ODM, and JDM valve manufacturing?

OEM uses your drawings, specifications, or operating requirements, with design rights retained by you. ODM uses a Diefei design platform and manufacturing, with customized results governed by the agreement. JDM is joint development, with ownership shared or allocated according to each party's contribution and the signed contract.

What information is needed to start an OEM or ODM valve project?

Provide the application, working medium, operating conditions, valve size and pressure class, material and connection requirements, relevant drawings or samples, target quantity, delivery schedule, and any standards or testing requirements. A Diefei engineer will review the package and confirm the open items.

How are MOQ and lead time determined?

MOQ depends on valve model, material, size, dedicated materials, tooling, and order quantity. Lead time depends on engineering complexity, sampling, tooling, production volume, testing, and material availability. Both are confirmed in the quotation and contract; the 12-day butterfly valve and 15-day check valve timelines shown on this page are reference examples only.

Who owns molds, drawings, and custom designs?

Customer-supplied drawings and customer-funded molds remain the customer's property unless the written agreement states otherwise. Diefei background intellectual property remains with Diefei. Joint or derivative intellectual property is allocated in the contract. Ownership, storage, maintenance, permitted use, and transfer rights should be documented before production begins.

How are quality, warranty, and confidentiality handled?

Production follows the agreed inspection plan, with shell and seat tests before shipment. AQL levels, warranty terms, and remedies are confirmed in the contract; Diefei's standard proposal is a 12-month warranty for material and workmanship defects after delivery. Confidentiality covers drawings, BOMs, process data, and commercial information, with 3 to 5 years or the contract term as a recommended baseline, whichever is longer.
